So you’ve seen the offers from companies that promise you that you can get satellite TV streamed to your PC for free once you buy their software package. One in particular has been gaining popularity lately called DTV4PC, which stands for digital TV for PC. Quite the unassuming name they found for this one.
I should also mention that the second version of the product was released on October 23rd, 2009, and it’s much improved from the first version. There are better channels available and the picture quality and streams are improved.
So what do you get with this product and how does it work? Well, you download a software package and load it onto your computer. Once it’s installed, you’ll have a TV viewer that will let you tune into over 2,300 channels.

What most people don’t realize is that this technology hasn’t been perfected yet and you are streaming television onto your PC. With that knowledge, don’t expect it to be the same quality that you get on your TV at home, but it’s still solid for the most part.
While there are a great number of channels that you can watch with dtv4pc 2, the only downside is that you’ll occasionally have to wait from time to time for them to buffer a little bit. Of course this is going to depend on the connection that you have to the internet and how quickly you’re able to stream things. The better the connection, the less of this (if any) you’ll experience.
How about the channels? There are too many to name, but to break it down, here are a few. There are mainstream sports channels including ESPN and an MLB channel. They also have most of the major news media outlets including Fox, CNBC, Bloomberg and many others.

There’s also a cartoon network on dtv4pc 2, although it’s not your normal cartoon network that you’ll find on your cable and satellite listing. Instead it’s a knock off, but they still seem to have well known cartoons on them for the kids to watch.
All in all, I’ll close out my DTV4PC review by saying that this is a solid product for the price. The new version of the software is noticeably improved from the old, and it seems like the company is committed to adding channels and perfecting their streams over time.
If you’re travelling or looking to save on your cable expenses and you want to have TV on your PC, then you can find plenty to watch by using dtv4pc. Go check it out for yourself and I think you’ll be happy with it.
